Avenged Sevenfold album update from Zacky Vengeance

In January 2009 Avenged Sevenfold's frontman, M Shadows, announced they had started writing for the new album. The band has been touring since the release of their self titled album with one of the final shows of their touring cycle headlining the Saturn Stage at the UK's Sonisphere Festival in August.

Deep Purple to start work on new album in February

Deep Purple who are coming to the end of their 'Rapture of the Deep World Tour' at the moment say they plan to start writing a new album in February. 
 
When asked when a new album could be expected, Ian Gillian said ""No one's done any writing yet, I've got about 50 songs in my library at the moment, but they're not for Deep Purple."

Steven Tyler quits Aerosmith?

Joe Perry has announced that he believes Steven Tyler has left the band but had to find out through the internet. He has reportedly said "Steven quit as far as I can tell. I don't know any more than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don't know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don't know."

As the Foo Fighters release their Greatest Hits, Dave Grohl feels it's a little premature (giving fans hope there will be more to come from the band in the future) as they're still very much active despite his side line project 'Them Crooked Vultures' with Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin.

U2 'Berlin Wall' gig now surrounded by a wall!

Last week we posted a news article about U2 to play a free show to mark the 20th anniversary of the Berlin wall coming down which will be broadcast tonight as part of the MTV Europe Music Awards 2009. 
 
We've just learnt that the organisers have just erected a wall around the Brandenburg Gate where the band will be playing this historic show.

More exciting news about Slash's new album

Good news for Slash fans this week, after signing to Roadrunner Records earlier this week in the UK for the European Release of his forth coming solo album Classic Rock magazine announced that they are teaming up with Slash and Roadrunner Records to release the album in a unique fan 'pack' which will be the first available format of the album anywhere in the world (Europe).
